Guest sentiment
A snapshot of what local diners frequently mention about this location.
"Delicious Korean mains with filling, flavourful sides. Spicy squid and bulgogi beef on sizzling platters both packed a punch - a perfect in between of sweet, salty, bold, and mellow. The spicy seafood stew was not stingy with ingredients and the broth was rich, umami, and spicy to the right level. My family and I really enjoyed our experience. 5 star food!"
"We recently dined at New Soul Korea restaurant and had a great experience overall. We ordered the sweet and spicy chicken as well as the stir-fried pork, and both dishes were full of bold, authentic Korean flavours. The sweet and spicy chicken was crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and generously coated in a sticky, well-balanced sauce that had a nice kick without being too overwhelming. It hit that perfect spot between savoury and sweet. The stir-fried pork was also a standout, with tender slices of meat cooked in a rich sauce and served with fresh vegetables that added both crunch and balance to the dish. The portions were quite generous, and we left feeling full and satisfied. The presentation of the dishes was clean and appealing, and the service throughout our visit was polite and efficient. The staff were attentive without being intrusive, and the food came out relatively quickly despite the restaurant being fairly busy. One thing to note is that the prices are a little on the higher side, especially when compared to more casual Korean eateries. However, given the quality of the ingredients and the overall dining experience, it still felt worth it. The restaurant itself is modern and cozy, with a relaxed atmosphere that makes it suitable for both casual meals and small group gatherings. Parking was not an issue at all — there’s ample parking nearby which made getting in and out very easy, especially for a busy area like Botany. All in all, it is a great spot for those looking to enjoy well-executed Korean comfort food with a bit of flair."
"This is the first time I visited this place after they changed last year. It was really busy when we visited so we had to wait a bit for the table and the service is not as attentive - for examples: they had forgotten to give us water jug or cutlery, and we had to help ourselves to these. The food is great and authentic, we had beef rib soup, stir fry pork galbi and they have the best bibimbap that I have ever tried!! Portion size is smaller than before but adequate (3 mains for 2 adults and 1 child), if you have all adults with good appetite, you might need to order extra side dishes. The overall restaurant atmosphere is spacious and clean. Will revisit this place again and try other dishes."
"Went for dinner on Saturday. The place is quite busy. Reservation is recommended. Had the spicy pork and squid, fried chicken (half original and half honey garlic). You can top up the side dishes.. staffs are friendly. Order to serve was pretty quick. Total bill was $127"
"We won’t order the kimchi Pancake again Yucky ! Oily! Upset my stomach,.. but the Stew and hotpot’s and side dishes are yummy"
"⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Absolutely solid Korean food. Everything we ordered was fresh, well-seasoned, and very delicious. The flavors felt authentic and comforting, and the portions were satisfying. You can really tell care goes into the food. The dishes came out hot and full of flavor, and every bite was enjoyable. A great place if you’re craving proper Korean food. My friends loved it so much..!! Definitely worth visiting I would happily come back again. Highly recommended!"
"I dined here recently with my sister. I had the Fish Roe Stew, while she went for the chips and fried shrimp. I found my dish quite delicious, though my sister thought hers was a bit too salty, as she's used to low-sodium meals. Overall, it was a pleasant dining experience. The staff were welcoming and attentive, which added to the atmosphere. Prices are slightly higher than other spots in the area, but the quality of the food makes it worthwhile."
"I have been coming here a while now, but only just tried the crispy friend chicken for the first time tonight & OMG it is so tender and succulent. Amazing! My other favorite dishes are the sweet beef & the kimchi stew. Always yum here! It usually gets really busy after 6.30pm, so come early. Update - came here for first time since its changed from Daamso to New Seoul. Its still good but the sizzling beef just didnt have enough flavour, it was a bit bland and dry. And the fried chicken was good but no longer served with little cubes of radish and we had to ask for salt for the chicken. The portions were a good size and our waitress was nice as well. The restaurant decor looks much nicer now too."
